Our curriculum is designed not to merely teach students dances, but rather HOW to dance. We make sure that all CDE! dancers are given the best opportunity to succeed in both recreational and/or professional dance, which ever their preference. Therefore, we not only teach the basics, but depending on their age and class, dancers will also learn dance history, music appreciation, audition preparation, team building, what goes on behind the scenes of stage performances & music videos, and much more!

Ballet - The foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibilty, alignment, strength, and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work. Proper terminology and the background of steps being presented are used in every class.
Jazz - Students will explore traditional and contemporary styles. Students focus upon understanding the importance of proper ballet technique as a foundation for correct jazz technique. Each class incorporates warm up, exercises across the floor, and center work or combinations.
Tap - Students will explore traditional and rhythm tap styles. Students are introduced to the history, proper terminology, tap steps, and proper technique.
Contemporary/Character/Improv - Students will explore the fundamentals of many styles of movement to completely contrasting pieces of music. Grasping counts, beats and meanings of musical pieces are highly focused upon. We stress the importance of interpreting through movement what is heard through sound.
Hip/Hop - Students will explore some of the hottest variations of "hip-hop" and "funk" styles in dancing today. Emphasis is placed upon finding different beats and moving to them in a choreographed way that reflects the musical style. Confidence and originality are focused on constantly, while also learning to put these concepts into a choreographed group routine.
We also offer private lessons for pageant routines, solo performance, and individual practice.
